Welcome to Store The Word.
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Store The Word website, application, and related services.
By creating an account or using Store The Word, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
Store The Word is a free, donation-supported Scripture memorization and Bible study service designed to help users memorize Scripture, review passages, study the Bible, record personal reflections, pray, and use related study tools.
Store The Word is an independent project and is not automatically an official ministry, counseling service, or record system of any church whose members happen to use it.
We intend to keep the core Scripture-memorization experience free, although the service and individual features may be changed, added, removed, or discontinued over time.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and the devices and email accounts through which you access Store The Word.
You agree to provide accurate information when reasonably necessary to create and maintain your account.
You should promptly contact Store The Word if you believe your account has been accessed without your authorization.
You may not access another person's account without permission or attempt to bypass Store The Word's security or access controls.
You retain ownership of the prayers, notes, KFCA responses, verse applications, study responses, and other original content you create through Store The Word.
You grant Store The Word a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, and display your content solely as reasonably necessary to:
This license does not transfer ownership of your content to Store The Word.
It does not give Store The Word permission to sell your Private Spiritual Content, use it for advertising, create marketing profiles from it, or use it to train general-purpose artificial-intelligence models.
For purposes of these Terms, Private Spiritual Content includes private prayer requests and updates, KFCA responses, verse applications and reflections, personal study notes, private reading-plan responses, and similar personal spiritual records that you have not intentionally chosen to share.
Private Spiritual Content is treated as private by default.
Other Store The Word users cannot browse or search your Private Spiritual Content.
Pastors, elders, counselors, church employees, or other church members do not receive access to your Private Spiritual Content simply because they use Store The Word or belong to the same church.
Store The Word administrators do not browse or review Private Spiritual Content.
The Privacy Policy explains the limited technical, support, security, emergency, and legal circumstances in which information may be accessed, processed, or disclosed.
Store The Word offers an optional local encryption feature that encrypts supported personal content in your browser before it is saved, using a key derived from a passphrase that you choose. The database stores only unreadable scrambled text.
Encrypted content cannot be read under any circumstance without your passphrase — not by you if you forget it, not by Store The Word, its administrators, or its providers, and not in response to legal process. There is no back door.
Your passphrase is never uploaded to Store The Word. You are solely responsible for remembering and safeguarding it. If you lose it, your encrypted content cannot be recovered or decrypted by anyone, and Store The Word has no password-reset or data-recovery capability for this feature.
You acknowledge and accept this risk before enabling the feature, and Store The Word is not responsible for loss of access to, or loss of, content that cannot be decrypted because a passphrase was lost or forgotten.
Turning the feature off decrypts your content on that device and stores it as plain text again; content on other devices that still have encryption enabled remains encrypted until unlocked and re-saved.
Unless you use the optional local encryption feature described above, Store The Word is not an end-to-end encrypted service.
Authorized infrastructure providers and a limited number of authorized technical personnel may be technically capable of processing stored information when necessary to operate, maintain, secure, or support the service.
This technical capability does not authorize general browsing of users' Private Spiritual Content, and it never extends to content you encrypt with the local encryption feature — that content cannot be read without your passphrase under any circumstance.
Private content does not become shared merely because another member of your church uses Store The Word.
If you deliberately use a feature that publishes, shares, sends, exports, submits, or otherwise discloses selected content, you direct Store The Word to provide that content to the audience identified by the feature.
You are responsible for reviewing what you choose to share.
You are also responsible for using reasonable discretion when recording or sharing sensitive information about another person.
Once information has been provided to another person, Store The Word cannot control whether that person copies, saves, screenshots, forwards, or otherwise retains it.
Store The Word may be used to record prayer requests and notes involving other people.
You agree not to use Store The Word to unlawfully harass, defame, threaten, impersonate, expose, or distribute another person's private information.
When recording sensitive information about another person, use reasonable discretion and avoid unnecessary identifying details where practical.
A church, ministry, pastor, counselor, or course leader may recommend Store The Word or use certain Store The Word features.
That relationship does not automatically make your private account records available to that person or organization.
If you participate in a feature that intentionally shares information with a church, group, class, counselor, course creator, or ministry leader, Store The Word will make the sharing function reasonably apparent.
Private Spiritual Content is not automatically converted into church records merely because you participate in a church-related feature.
Store The Word is a technology service, not an emergency service or professional counseling provider.
Using Store The Word does not by itself create a:
If you need pastoral care, counseling, medical assistance, legal advice, or emergency help, contact an appropriate qualified person or service directly.
Do not rely on Store The Word to notify another person about urgent information you enter into the app.
Store The Word does not routinely monitor Private Spiritual Content for indications of suicide, abuse, crime, marital problems, theological concerns, or other personal issues.
If information indicating an imminent risk of serious physical harm comes directly to Store The Word's attention, Store The Word may take reasonable action when permitted or required by law.
You agree not to:
Store The Word may restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users, enforce these Terms, protect the service, or comply with law.
Certain Bible translations, books, course materials, images, documents, or other materials available through Store The Word may be owned or licensed by third parties.
Your use of those materials may be subject to copyright, licensing terms, attribution requirements, or restrictions imposed by their owners.
Store The Word does not transfer ownership of third-party materials to you.
Store The Word is supported in part by voluntary donations.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, donations are voluntary contributions supporting development, infrastructure, and operation of the service and are not payments for a specific product or service.
Recurring donations may be canceled through the applicable donation or payment-management process.
Payments are processed by third-party payment providers and may be subject to their terms and privacy policies.
Whether a donation is tax deductible depends on Store The Word's legal and tax status and applicable law. Store The Word will not represent a donation as tax deductible unless legally permitted to do so.

The Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms.
You may request deletion of your account as described in the Privacy Policy.
Where Store The Word provides an export function, you may use it to preserve supported content.
You are encouraged to maintain your own copy of information that would be difficult or impossible for you to replace.
Store The Word may add, remove, modify, suspend, or discontinue features.
We may also discontinue Store The Word entirely.
If Store The Word is permanently discontinued, we intend, where reasonably practicable, to provide advance notice and a reasonable opportunity for users to retrieve or export supported personal content.
We cannot guarantee that every feature or piece of content will remain available indefinitely.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Store The Word is provided "as is" and "as available."
Store The Word does not guarantee that:
We work to protect the service and its users, but no online system can guarantee absolute security or availability.
Nothing in these Terms excludes any warranty or right that applicable law does not permit us to exclude.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Store The Word and its owners, operators, officers, employees, volunteers, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or relating to your use of or inability to use Store The Word.
Store The Word is not responsible for decisions made by pastors, churches, counselors, employers, family members, or other third parties based on information that you intentionally choose to share with them.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
You may stop using Store The Word at any time.
Store The Word may suspend or terminate an account when reasonably necessary because of:
Where appropriate and reasonably practicable, we may provide notice before terminating an account.
Store The Word is not intended for independent use by children under 13 unless Store The Word has implemented an appropriate parental-consent system.
Users under 13 may not independently create an account unless expressly permitted by Store The Word.
Store The Word may update these Terms as the service evolves.
If we make a material change, we will provide reasonable notice before the updated Terms take effect.
Your continued use of Store The Word after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Changes to these Terms do not give Store The Word permission to disregard the commitments regarding previously collected Private Spiritual Content described in the Privacy Policy.
Unless applicable law requires otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
